PROJECTS
Here are some of the steel and iron door projects we have built for homeowners and businesses around Austin and across Texas.
Each one was made for the space it went into. Some were oversized front entries, some were patio openings that needed a lot of glass, and others were remodels where the old doors no longer suited the house. You will see steel pivot doors, double entry doors, panoramic patio systems, and steel windows that bring in a lot more light.
Use the tabs below to look through individual jobs. Two of them are shown start to finish: a wood-to-steel entry door replacement in Dripping Springs and a steel patio door wall in Lakeway, plus our Hills Project in Austin. If you see something you like, we can build it to fit your own opening, with the finish, glass, and hardware you want.
This Hill Country stone home came to us with the stained wood double doors it was built with. Years of afternoon sun had worked the finish over, and the small leaded glass panels kept a two-story entry a lot darker than the owners wanted it.
We built a black steel double entry door with a matching transom above it, sized to the rough opening that was already there so the stone surround never had to be cut or rebuilt. The frames were welded up in our shop, delivered on a truck, and set in place in a single day. The foyer picks up daylight now from the floor all the way to the second storey.

This steel door replacement project successfully balanced high-end security with modern curb appeal within a $12,000 to $15,000 budget. To achieve the client's goal of securing the main entry without sacrificing natural light, the design incorporates privacy-enhancing Flemish glass. The turnkey installation featured a seamless exterior stucco finish and a matching interior steel trim. Following an eight-week fabrication and delivery period, the entire physical installation was completed efficiently on-site in just two days.

This Lakeway house looks straight out onto the golf course, and the whole back wall was doing the view no favours. The original patio doors were wide-framed white units, and between the frames and the mullions a good chunk of the opening was blocked.
We replaced them with black steel: a run of steel French patio doors across the main opening and a single steel door at the end of the porch. Same rough openings, far less frame. The porch reads as one long piece of glass now, and from the living room the fairway is the whole back wall.

We design, build, and install steel and iron doors for homes, remodels, and commercial properties. The work usually starts the same way. We look at your opening, talk through what you need it to do, and then make a door or window that fits it exactly. Nothing here is off the shelf.
Across these projects you will find steel pivot doors, single and double entry doors, wrought iron entry doors, sliding and panoramic patio doors, and steel windows that open up a room. We work with homeowners and builders in Austin, Bee Cave, Cedar Park, and Round Rock, along with Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Fort Worth.
Most of what you see here is a replacement rather than new construction. The Dripping Springs and Lakeway jobs both went into openings that were already there, which is usually the cheapest way to get a steel door into an existing house. If that is what you are weighing up, our steel door installation page walks through measuring, lead times, and what install day actually looks like.
